Summary Assingment

In the Huffington Post article “Obama Says Rape Is ‘Not Okay- And It Has To Stop’ In Grammys Message”, talks about how sexual violence is spreading and that it needs to stop starting with us. The tone established in this article was objective. It gave factual information that is happening in out country and ideas on how to help stop the sexual violence that occurs. The message conveyed in this article clearly states that rape and domestic violence is a big problem that’s affecting the whole United States. Last night on the Grammy’s, Obama asked viewers and artists to help stop it. He mentioned that if music and art can help change the culture, why the word of ending sexual violence can’t help create a culture where it isn’t tolerated. Obama then states that if the word is then spread by our entertainers, then the word will be continued on and then hopefully stopped. This whole message was stemmed on what is happening on college campuses and it had to be brought to the attention of our people. Overall the message is to in hopes bring attention to viewers that sexual violence isn’t okay and help give hope to all young people so they “ can go as far as their talents and their dreams will take them”.
